Your own address and bank
Etsy enrols the seller at a residential address in an eligible country, with a bank account there.
Built for · Etsy
Etsy now takes sellers in more countries, many through Payoneer, and it enrols you at your own home address. A US LLC doesn't turn a maker abroad into a US Etsy seller. It helps with what grows around the shop.
Check Etsy first.
Check Etsy first. Etsy Payments needs a residential address and a bank account in an eligible country, and sellers in Pakistan, Egypt, Brazil, the UAE and ten other countries now join through a Payoneer account. Where Etsy serves you, sell there as yourself.
A US LLC earns its place around the shop: a store of your own with Stripe or Shopify Payments, invoices to boutiques that buy wholesale, a company that owns the brand and its trademark, and the shop's money kept apart from yours.
Your own store can take Stripe or Shopify Payments as a US business.
Boutiques buying wholesale pay a company's invoice by ACH.
The company owns the brand, so the shop and the store sit under one name you could sell.
The business's money stays out of your personal account.

Selling from your own site needs Stripe, PayPal or Shopify Payments, and many don't serve the country you live in.
Shops and boutiques buying wholesale want an invoice from a business and an account to pay.
The company runs your own store and takes wholesale orders. Etsy keeps paying you where you live.
Start a companyEtsy brings the buyers. Your own store keeps more of each sale. A US LLC is what opens a checkout for that store when your country has none.

Etsy comes first, as yourself. The company is for everything beside it.
If Etsy Payments serves you, open the shop as yourself, at your home address, with your own bank or a Payoneer account. If it doesn't, Etsy says you can't open a shop yet, with or without a US company.
For your own store and wholesale. We file the articles online, and Wyoming approves an online filing the same day it is filed.
Without a Social Security Number the IRS issues it by fax, which is the slowest step. The expedited EIN, $199, has us file the day the company exists and chase it.
In the LLC's name. Stripe pays out to it, and wholesale buyers pay invoices into it by ACH.
Apply to Stripe with the LLC's real details and your real address abroad. Shopify Payments asks for a US address where the business operates, so many makers use Stripe or PayPal there instead.
Etsy collects it on Etsy sales. On your own store it's yours, once sales into a state pass its threshold, usually $100,000 a year. We register a store for $149 a state.
Every parcel shipped into the US now owes duty, so decide whether you pay it or the buyer does at the door. Form 5472 is due each 15 April, and Wyoming's annual report on the first day of the month the LLC was formed in.
Can I sell on Etsy from my country?
Etsy says that in most markets where Etsy Payments isn't available, you can't open a shop. A US company doesn't change that, because Etsy enrols the seller at their own residential address, with a bank account in the same eligible country.
Sellers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Georgia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Peru, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine and the UAE join through Payoneer, and sellers in India may be able to.
Who handles sales tax on my Etsy sales?
Etsy is a marketplace facilitator in every state with a sales tax, so it collects and pays sales tax on your Etsy sales, and you don't register anywhere for them.
Sales from your own website are yours to handle once you pass a state's threshold.
Does the LLC owe US income tax?
Goods made and shipped from your country keep the company's income foreign-source and generally outside US income tax. Every parcel into the US now owes duty, though, since the $800 exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025.
Holding stock with a US fulfilment company raises the same question Amazon sellers face, so ask before you do it.

Wyoming, for most sellers abroad: $60 a year to the state, no owner on the public record, and the state banks are used to seeing.
