Add-on · Expedited EIN
Your EIN, issued in two to three weeks.
A US bank won't open an account without an EIN, and a founder without an SSN usually waits six to eight weeks for one. With the expedited EIN we file Form SS-4 on the IRS's direct route the day your company is approved, and chase it until the number arrives. That usually takes two to three weeks. It costs $199 once, on any plan.

01The wait
Why does an EIN take a month without an SSN?
The IRS's online application asks for the responsible party's Social Security Number or ITIN. A founder abroad usually has neither, so the application goes on paper, as Form SS-4, and the IRS works that queue by hand. It isn't a mark against you or the company. It's just the slower door.
On every plan we prepare the SS-4 from your order and file it the day the state approves your company. On the ordinary route the number arrives in six to eight weeks, and that's included.
02The faster route
What does the expedited EIN do differently?
We file on the IRS's direct route instead of the fax queue, and we chase it daily rather than weekly. The number normally arrives in two to three weeks. Only a successful call to the IRS's phone line is faster, and that line can be hard to get through to.
When the number arrives, the IRS's confirmation notice, the CP 575, goes into your documents. Banks and payment processors ask to see it.

03Worth it?
When is it worth paying for?
If you need a US bank account, Stripe or a marketplace payout this month, it usually is. All of them ask for the EIN first, so the weeks you save here are weeks you're taking payments sooner.
If nothing is waiting, the ordinary route gets you the same number for nothing extra. Either way, be wary of anyone promising an EIN in a day without an SSN. That only happens when someone else's number goes on your company's record.

If yours is not here, email us at hello@baseacross.com before you order.
It usually arrives in two to three weeks from the day we file, which is the day the state approves your company. The IRS works at its own pace, so that's an estimate rather than a promise.
Not honestly. A same-day EIN without an SSN means someone else's number has gone on your company's record, or the timeline isn't true. The fastest honest routes are the IRS's phone line, when you can get through, and the direct route we use.
Yes. It's $199 once on Launch, Build, Scale and Operate, asked as one question in the order form.
No. A founder without either applies on Form SS-4, with the responsible party's number marked as foreign. We prepare and file it for you on every plan.
The IRS's confirmation notice, called the CP 575. It goes into your documents the day it arrives. If it's ever lost, the IRS can issue a replacement called a 147C letter.
