What we file · Transfer

Move your company to us and keep everything it has.

You don't need to start again. A transfer keeps your company, with its name, file number and formation date, and makes us its registered agent. Your papers come across, and your yearly dates go on a calendar.

How does moving your company work?

You tell us about the company. We check the state's record, then file the change of agent the same business day.

Read the full explanation

You start by telling us about the company: its name, state, file number, its registered agent today, who you are leaving, and where this year's filing stands. On the same business day, we check the state's own record. If the company is behind on anything, like a lapsed agent or an unpaid yearly charge, we tell you what it takes to fix, and what it costs, before we change anything.

Then we file the state's own change of registered agent form, signed for the company by the person you name. Wyoming takes it on paper, by post, and records it up to 15 business days after it reaches the office; Delaware takes an upload and records it in two to three weeks. The state's fee is $5 in Wyoming and $50 in Delaware, passed on at cost. Nothing about the company changes while it's pending. It keeps the same name, the same EIN, the same formation date and the same contracts, and your current agent stays in place until the state has recorded ours.

There is no fee of ours for the move, and no state formation fee.

02 · What arrives

What do you get after the move?

Your papers in one place, and your yearly dates set from the day the company was formed.

Read the full explanation

Your formation documents, your EIN letter and your operating agreement come into your documents. Your yearly dates are set from the date the state stamped when the company was formed, not from the day you signed up with us, so the first reminder lands when the state actually expects the filing.

If your old provider gave the company its US address, the tracker tells you what to change and where: the IRS, on Form 8822-B, and your bank and payment providers. If your last provider only sold you a formation, the calendar may be new to you. A foreign-owned US company owes two things a year, and both go on it with the fee shown. From then on we're your registered agent, so the state's letters come to your documents instead of somewhere you can't see them.

RECORDS

Your papers, in one place

Your formation certificate, EIN letter and operating agreement or bylaws go into your documents. From there, a signed link can show a bank one document without giving anyone an account.

CALENDAR

The yearly dates, on the state's own schedule

The state's yearly charge and the IRS return go on one calendar, each with its fee shown before it's due. They're set from the date your company was actually formed: the first of its anniversary month in Wyoming, 1 June or 1 March in Delaware.

03 · Questions

Questions about moving a company.

If yours is not here, email us at hello@baseacross.com before you order.

No. The company keeps its name, file number, formation date and EIN. The only things that change are its registered agent, which becomes us, and where its records are kept, which is with us from now on.

Ready when you are

Tell us about your company. We handle the move.

It takes a few minutes. You see the whole order, with the state's own fee to record the change, before anything is charged.
