Term 42 of 105 in the glossary, filed under F.IRS: instructions for Form 1120

01 · Explained

Form 1120, for a founder abroad.

A C-Corporation reports its income, deductions and tax on Form 1120, at a flat federal rate of 21%. It's due on the 15th day of the fourth month after the company's year ends, which is 15 April for a calendar year, and Form 7004 gives six more months to file, though not to pay.

A corporation that's 25% or more foreign-owned attaches Form 5472 to it. A foreign-owned single-member LLC files a pro forma version as the cover for its Form 5472, with no tax calculated.

What founders ask next.

Who files Form 1120?
Every US C-Corporation, every year, even with no income, and a foreign-owned single-member LLC as a pro forma cover for Form 5472.
When is Form 1120 due?
15 April for a calendar-year company: the 15th day of the fourth month after the year ends. Form 7004 extends the filing date by six months.
