Term 49 of 105 in the glossary, filed under F.SEC: filing a Form D notice
Form D, for a founder abroad.
Selling a SAFE or stock to investors is selling a security, and a startup relies on an exemption from registering it, usually Regulation D. Form D is the short notice that tells the SEC about the offering, filed online within 15 days after the first sale.
The SEC charges no fee for it. Some states want a notice filing too, for investors who live there, and your startup lawyer usually files both.
